About the Department

A Long-Term Co-op student position in Machine Learning Software Engineering (MLSE) unit presents wide opportunity for students to see with their own eyes and feel/do with their own hands the real work in High-Tech Industry environment.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing

Exiting new and fast developing MLSE programming is used in various areas (Machine Learning/Deep Neural Networks (DNN), gaming with real physics, Video Processing, High Performance Computing (HPC), scientific computations, etc.) and allows applying the knowledge gained during this internship to vast areas and is in high demand from very reputable employers.
The responsibilities will include working on bugs (reproducing, triaging, debugging, suggesting a solution, coding, submitting change), new features, helping in bringing up new HW, participating in the team meetings and discussions, writing documentation, cooperating with other teams and more.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll learn

Learning HIP, OpenCL and other Stream Compute APIs both from outside via API/applications and inside working with MLSE drivers is not only very interesting experience, but extremely useful for your development and excellent future employment. Radeon Open Compute platform (ROCm), the major AMD software project for Stream Compute is getting well accepted by the industry and spreading wide and wild.

Requirements

The major objective of this internship is to develop and support the MLSE drivers while you can try and learn API and write some samples.

MLSE drivers consist of two major parts: runtime and compiler. We are looking for a Long-Term Co-op student interested in the described above work working on the runtime (RT) side of the drivers.
