The Machine Builder/Millwright assembles and disassembles Eagle Presses according to the production schedule.
Responsibilities
Directly involved in the manufacturing, assembly and complete build of Eagle Presses
Builds mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies to Eagle design standards following drawing specification and applies generally accepted mechanical assembly practices for fits and tolerances as required
Moves assemblies and sub-assemblies using overhead cranes, lift trucks, pallet trucks, transfer carts or other means of transport
Assembles mechanical components, using power tools, hand tools and measuring instruments, to required and specified clearances and tolerances
Tests and inspect assemblies and subassemblies to ensure proper fit, function and operation to the intended design requirements
Repairs and adjusts assemblies, machines and equipment as required
Replaces defective parts of machines, assemblies or sub-assemblies
Adjusts clearances and alignment of assemblies and subassemblies as required
Directly involved in disassembly, rigging and loading of Eagle Presses in preparation for transfer to customer site
Travel anywhere in North America and Mexico for installation, reassembly, service and maintenance as required on Eagle Presses.
Document installation procedures and actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records as required
Submit trip reports and expenses to the Accounting department for processing
Daily housekeeping and maintaining equipment and surrounding work area;
Uphold all health & safety rules and regulations per Eagle's Health & Safety Manual and Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act;
Uphold all Eagle employment standards, policies and procedures;
Work in an organizational manner, documenting work performed in Job Sheets and submitting job sheets to reporting manager on a daily basis;
Prompt and regular attendance and working all assigned hours;
Perform any other duties, as required.
Educational Requirements
Completion of high school
Completion of on-the-job training
Completion of formal apprenticeship and/or technical training from an Accredited Canadian College preferred
Certified Industrial Mechanic Millwright preferred
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Ability to understand, analyze and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Ability to function effectively and productively within a team focused work group.
Speak/read/write fluently in English.
Mathematical skills and understanding of basic mathematical applications
Knowledge of raw materials, productions processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of mechanical assemblies
Knowledge and understanding of safety and safety precautions involved
