Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Lumber Distribution Supervisor on a permanent full-time basis at our Lumber and Building Products Distribution Facility in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.

What you'll do:

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an FCL high-throughput Lumber and Building Products Distribution facility.

  • You will oversee inventory and asset management at the LBM Distribution Facility as well as Local Co-op shipping schedules and service levels.
  • You will oversee the record keeping functions in gathering, documenting, and maintaining inventory records/reports of product being requisitioned, incoming product, and movement of product from the facility to Local Co-op's based on established shipping schedules.
  • You will utilize reports for auditing and monitoring KPI's.
  • You will develop, implement, establish, and maintain procedures for the efficient and safe warehousing of inventory regarding space, accessibility, and positioning (including oversight of repairs and maintenance).
  • You will co-ordinate the pick-up, delivery, and invoicing of outbound freight to Local Co- ops.
  • You will lead terminal maintenance and negotiating with 3rd-party quotes for services provided by contractors.
  • You will be accountable for shrink control and responsible for audit results as required.
  • You will be responsible for the overall safety at the LBM Distribution Facility, including maintaining Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), and environmental compliance.
  • You will provide leadership and coaching to direct reports and implement training plans for employees
  • You will provide input into annual expense budgets.
  • You will establish KPIs, monitor ongoing results, and provide regular progress reports. You will also utilize monthly year-to-date reports to make adjustment in response to variances.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:
  • You have a two-year Diploma in Business or Logistics.
  • You have a minimum of 6-9 years of relevant experience in Facility or Distribution Management (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Mechanical aptitude training and certification as well as experience running mobile equipment (including Forklifts) would be considered an asset.
  • A Class 3 license would also be considered an asset.
  • You have knowledge and a strong understanding of lumber and building products
  • You're proficient in the use of computer programs, such as MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • You're honest and trustworthy, are results oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others.
