Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Cross-Border LTL Dispatcher
to manage freight movements on our
Northeastern United States to West Coast Canada lane
. This role is responsible for overseeing cross-border LTL operations from dispatch through delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, on-time performance, and seamless coordination between drivers, customers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cross-border dispatching and long-haul LTL operations.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch and manage
cross-border LTL shipments
from the Northeastern U.S. into Western Canada
Coordinate driver schedules, linehaul movements, and relay points across international borders
Ensure all cross-border documentation and shipment details are accurate and compliant
Communicate clearly with drivers regarding routes, border requirements, transit expectations, and delivery instructions
Track shipments and provide timely, accurate updates to customers and internal stakeholders
Monitor compliance with Canadian and U.S. Hours of Service regulations and company policies
Proactively resolve delays, border issues, or service exceptions using a solutions-driven approach
Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and warehouse teams to optimize lane performance
Maintain accurate records and real-time updates within the TMS and dispatch systems
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience as a
cross-border dispatcher
, preferably in LTL and long-haul operations
Strong knowledge of Northeastern U.S. and Western Canadian geography
Solid understanding of cross-border shipping procedures and documentation
Working knowledge of both Canadian and U.S. Hours of Service regulations
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with TMS and dispatch software
High attention to detail and commitment to service reliability
