COMPENSATION: Payband 4 $29.81 to $31.81
HOURS: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Divisional Vice-Principal of Data Literacy, the Office Technician will provide administrative support, data
management and analysis, communications, and digital content creation functions.
The Office Technician will be responsible for the administrative functions of the department. They will provide administrative support to
the department administrators. The incumbent will be using advanced features in Office 365, SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, Clevr, and the
student information system (Tyler) to do data collection, maintenance, analysis, and reporting. They will assist the department
administrators with project management tasks. The incumbent will be responsible for the organization and maintenance of digital file
systems. They will contribute to the creation and implementation of a data, communications and digital content plans designed to support
the goals of the Student Support Services Department. They will contribute to the creation of digital, print, web-portal, and audio/visual
content and contribute to the creation of communication, protocols, and other digital content. The content may include print and
audio/visual materials, e-newsletters, digital presentations, special events and updating of website and social media content.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training: \xe2\x80\xa2
Completion of minimum 2 year diploma in Business Administration or a related IT discipline from a certified business school or community college is an asset.
Experience, knowledge, and skills: \xe2\x80\xa2
three years of recent experience in an administrative or technical role or an equivalent combination of related experience, training and education \xe2\x80\xa2
ability to learn new software programs and to adapt to technology changes \xe2\x80\xa2
advanced skills and experience in Office 365 apps, \xe2\x80\xa2
understanding of database structures, relationships and ability to create and/or manipulate reports \xe2\x80\xa2
excellent digital content creation and writing/editing skills \xe2\x80\xa2
experience with evaluating office systems and implementing new processes and procedures \xe2\x80\xa2
ability to develop systems, protocols and standards to organize electronic and manual files and records \xe2\x80\xa2
ability to prioritize and organize task effectively \xe2\x80\xa2
ability to work effectively as a team member and independently \xe2\x80\xa2
ability to meet multiple demands and deadlines in a busy office environment with many interruptions \xe2\x80\xa2
good understanding of the role of confidentiality and privacy issues in a school setting \xe2\x80\xa2
skills in both official languages (English and French) preferred but not required
