COMPENSATION: Educational Assistant 2 Payband $24.12 to $27.97
HOURS: 5.5 hours per day
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
An Educational Assistant is required to work in the Vocational Trades program, to assist students in both practical
and theory aspects of the program and to assist in the management of the program. Experience in Culinary Arts,
Baking, Pastry, Auto and ECE is an asset.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •
completion of Educational Assistant/Para Educator program or related area of post-secondary education is required •
First Aid and CPR training completed within the probationary period (90 working days) •
Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in one or more of: Broadcast Media, Building Trades (Carpentry, Framing, Drywall etc.), Automotive Repair, Electrical Trades, or Piping Trades •
valid Manitoba Driver’s licence, driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle •
demonstrated ability to form positive connections within the industry •
experience working with Grade 11 and 12 students and adults in an educational setting preferred •
demonstrated ability to explain concepts and issues to students and to develop rapport with students, on a one-to-one basis and in group settings0 •
good problem solving skills and the ability to interpret situations accurately and act accordingly •
a positive outlook with a belief in the ethic of caring and inclusion •
demonstrated leadership and organizational skills •
demonstrated ability to work as a team member •
excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills •
excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French) is an asset
