This is an action filled position. We train you and pay you! Responsibilities for Loss Prevention Monitor public areas for potential threats Monitor security systems and closed-circuit cameras. Identify potential thieves or vandals among staff or patrons Follow and confront suspected shoplifters Review inventory and stock while investigating suspected pilferage by suspects Work with law enforcement to detain/charge suspects or dishonest employees Document theft and other security violations Qualifications for Loss Prevention Superior observational skills, good vision and attention to detail Situational awareness to understand and assess risk quickly Good judgment to react effectively and efficiently in stressful situations Dedicated to cause mentality with enthusiastic drive Emotional intelligence and good character judgment Willingness to learn and enforce appropriate security and safety procedures as mandated Excellent verbal and written communication skills Physically fit to walk for up to 8 hours Good memory Act with honesty, integrity and understanding at all times Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner with due diligence and consideration to others Fundamental understanding of confidentiality, privacy and rights of people Basic working knowledge of surveillance camera controls (nice to have) Requirements Ontario Security Guard License or Dual License Recent background check or willing to complete a new one Prior experience in loss prevention or educational background in loss prevention, security or law enforcement NOT required but preferred 1-3 years retail experience NOT required but preferred Must be able to work a flexible and dynamic schedule including weekends Trained in CPR and first aid Benefit To You No security experience needed Saving plans Paid wellness plan Discounted shopping Paid training $22+ / hour for high performing employees Regular performance bonuses Growth inside company Recognition within local governments and local law enforcement Solid foundation for a career in law enforcement with full referrals Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week Salary: $17.00-$22.00 per hour Benefits:
