Responsibilities:
Teach in person on a regular schedule as assigned
Prepare and modify course outlines, ensuring content alignment and post student updates on our online platform.
Post regular updates with student-specific instructions for asynchronous time between lessons.
Develop an academically rigorous course focused on students, ensuring all courses meet the 110 hours
Use a variety of assessments AS, FOR, and OF learning that is used to guide instructions, feedback and learning conversations as per Growing Success
Monitor student learning regularly, creating engaging tasks and support the development of appropriate learning skills
Complete all teacher administrative tasks meticulously, including using an electronic Gradebook completing timely report cards, and ensuring the course meets inspection standards.
Uphold high standards of academic and instructional integrity in teaching, using Growing Success.
Demonstrate strong ethics, sound judgment, reasoning skills, and commitment to discretion and privacy at all times
Able to differentiate instruction and ensure student needs are met with a coaching focus that supports both academic and personal well being
Role Requirements
Proficiency in written and spoken English with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Documented work experience in Canada is required
Related university degree required; Bachelor of Education preferred
Minimum of two years of professional teaching/tutoring experience in a Canadian school or Ontario educational training.
Experience in course development is valued with teaching experience preferred
Availability to teach during the school day .
PPL1O, PPL2O and PPL3O experience in a non-traditional setting is highly valued
Additional Information
Must be able to teach in person 5 days per week (in the afternoon)
Hours of class from 1 to 4 PM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
