Airdrie Music Lessons is looking for an awesome Drum Teacher to join our growing business.
Unlike other music schools, our teachers are employees (NOT contractors) and teaching at AML is not a side gig - it's a career!
The ideal teacher will be proficient in teaching/playing:
Drums
Special consideration will be given to candidates who are also able to teach additional instruments (Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Singing, etc.), and who are able to teach other complementary disciplines (i.e. drama, art, pottery, choreography & dance, etc.).
Candidate should be available to teach lessons on Saturdays in addition to weekday evenings. Candidates with schedule flexibility will be given additional consideration.
Teacher responsibilities include:
1. Teaching drum students in both private lessons and small group lessons
2. Preparing engaging lesson plans and developing drum sheet music for a variety of songs that students will perform in bi-annual concerts
3. Coordinate lesson progress with other AML teachers towards long term objectives including concerts and community performances.
4. Provide inspiration, feedback, and direction to motivate students to grow as people and musicians through the art and craft of music.
5. Communicate with parents to ensure students stay on track and continue to progress in their music knowledge and skills.
6. Take part in biannual concerts, workshops, special events, performances, and more to connect with the community and grow the AML community.
7. Additional consideration given for ability to teach lessons in other disciplines such as piano, guitar, ukulele, singing, etc.
NOTE:
in order to provide more working hours, the ideal candidate will also be able to teach additional instruments - piano, guitar, ukulele, singing, etc.
Wages/Hours:
Wage is dependent on the candidate's education, work experience, and areas of knowledge/skill.
Hours will depend on availability on the business side as well as availability on the candidate's side. This position could be either part time or full time depending on the candidate's qualifications.
