Part-Time French Teacher (2 Days/Week)

About the Role:

The Village Schoolhouse is seeking a kind and engaging French teacher to join our team part-time, teaching two multi-age classrooms: one group of students in grades 1-3 and another in grades 4-6. Each group receives a weekly 2-hour session.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with children, makes learning joyful, and sees language as a way to build culture, confidence, and curiosity.

Responsibilities:

Lead two 2-hour French sessions per week (one per classroom) Design interactive, age-appropriate lessons using play, music, storytelling, and conversation Foster curiosity and confidence in speaking and understanding French Collaborate with classroom teachers when possible to connect lessons to broader class themes Support an educational environment that values exploration, relationships, and student voice

What We're Looking For:

Fluency in French Experience working with elementary-aged children, ideally in multi-age settings Comfort working independently and leading small groups A creative, relational, and responsive teaching approach Alignment with Reggio-inspired or inquiry-based education practices (or a willingness to learn)
