Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances while ensuring the safety and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle operation and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Load and unload freight as necessary, utilizing forklifts or other heavy equipment when required. Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance. Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding hours of service and vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably as a long haul driver. Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols. Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Basic automotive repair skills to address minor mechanical issues on the road. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Willingness to travel extensively over long distances, often for extended periods.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
