Located at our Scarborough facility, the Traffic/EDI Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the movement of goods, services, and information, and control of import/export for national and international transactions are performed in the most cost effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in EDI processes for large accounts an understand import/export rules and regulations, acts, permits for both commercial and government transactions (NAFTA, INCOTERM 2000, Import and Export Permit Acts, B13 forms, etc.). This role reports directly to the Vice President, Operations.
Major responsibilities
Possess exemplary knowledge and understanding of import/export rules and regulations, acts, permits and terms for both commercial and government transactions (NAFTA, INCOTERM 2000, Import and Export Permit Acts, B13 forms, etc.) and be able to advise, implement and follow as required
Manage inbound and outbound shipments from 3PL in Canada/US/Europe
Work and negotiate with carriers, forwarders, and customs brokers
Prioritize and coordinate work activities to meet customer demands and special project as required
Maintain a cooperative, productive work environment
Respond to difficult and stressful situations in an effective and positive manner
Resolve issues regarding: Freight, Customs and ED
Skills and qualifications
Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a logistics/EDI environment with similar experiences required
Post-secondary education, preferably in operations/purchasing
Individuals who come from an environment with an ISO mindset would be an asset
Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Must be a dependable team player and work well with others in a professional manner
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Organized with exceptional attention to detail
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
Experience with Accpac is an asset
