Logistics and Inventory Manager
who will oversee inventory accuracy, vendor coordination, and the end-to-end management of purchase orders and inbound shipments.
Position Summary
The
Logistics and Inventory Manager
is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, confirming purchase orders with vendors, and coordinating inbound shipments -- including container scheduling, tracking, and documentation. This role ensures smooth inventory flow from suppliers to warehouses and showrooms, supporting production and sales while minimizing costs and stockouts.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor & Purchase Order Management
Issue, confirm, and track purchase orders with domestic and international vendors.
Verify order accuracy, pricing, quantities, and lead times.
Maintain clear communication with vendors to ensure timely updates on production and shipping schedules.
Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
Address and resolve discrepancies, delays, or damages related to supplier shipments.
Container & Shipment Scheduling
Coordinate container bookings and inbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery to warehouses or distribution centers.
Manage all shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, and bills of lading.
Track container status from origin to destination and proactively communicate ETAs to internal teams.
Work closely with warehouse teams to plan for container arrivals and unloading schedules.
Ensure compliance with import/export and customs regulations.
Inventory Management
Reconcile inventory discrepancies between systems and physical counts.
Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, and operations teams to align inventory strategy with business goals.
Process Improvement & Reporting
Develop and maintain reports on inventory accuracy, purchasing trends, and vendor performance.
Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce inventory costs.
Support implementation and optimization of ERP or inventory management software.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
3-5 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or logistics coordination.
Experience working with international vendors and containerized shipping strongly preferred.
Background in the
furniture, retail, or manufacturing
industry is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and vendor relationship management abilities.
Proficiency with inventory and ERP systems (myriad software)
Knowledge of shipping documentation, import/export processes, and customs requirements.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis/reporting tools.
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
