This position is responsible for managing the back office activities required to run an effective and efficient Locomotive Repair business.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with HR to ensure expected staff behaviour; take staff action as required. Participate in hiring of team members Manage resources to budget; strategically review staffing and resources to customer needs and make recommendations to Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance for appropriate organization, staff competency, procurement, fleet and asset changes Work with Master Mechanic to plan and execute Apprentice Program, including the scheduling to staff, monitoring and correcting progress, on-the-job training and appropriate sign offs; Produce training material as required to support Apprentice Program Manage customer contracts and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained and resources are available to complete required work Oversee the purchasing of goods and services in the pursuit of locomotive repair is cost-effective and within Marmon guidelines. Establish effective supplier contracts within the Marmon portfolio to optimize costs. Work with the Site Team to uncover necessary management reports and provide requirements and testing to our Sr Data Analyst for creation and implementation. Ensure compliance to Railserve Safety System by monitoring the completion of necessary audits and highlighting trends in great catches and observations Work with the Revenue Assurance team to deeply understand contractual billing opportunities and implement procedures to maximize revenue; participate in contracts repricing exercises based on contracts performance to expectation. Performing other related duties as required Other duties as assigned. - Implement improved processes/technology in variance review, information capture and distribution, scheduling, contract performance and production value capture. Produce quarterly business reports for Stakeholder presentation based on financial, safety and production data augmented with team successes and challenges; compile production data to demonstrate value.

A. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree or equivalent from two -year college or technical school preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Suite of products, ADP and ServiceBox Must have valid Driver's license.

B. LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


D. REASONING ABILITY


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with the typical problems that occur in rail car switching.

G. OTHER REQUIREMENTS


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $23-$30 per hour
