Local Driver (G or D License) - Part Time

Greenhouse operation that grows, upgrades, and ships plants, flowers, and trees to retail chain-stores across the United States and Canada.

Job Details

:

Part time (15-25 hours per week with available additional hours if desired). Monday to Friday. Delivery runs can start as early as 7 am. Average start time is 11 am. Finish time is typically 4 to 5 hours after start time. During peak season (Late October to mid December. February to May) weekend deliveries one to two times per month. Drive 26-foot straight truck to make daily local deliveries in the Niagara region, and occasionally in the Mississauga region, and as needed airport pick ups of plant products. Unload palletized products where required (customers usually unloads themselves). Daily safety checks on trucks and equipment. Use GPS to navigate deliveries to customer locations. G or D License (Different compensation based on license class) G License - $21/hr; D License - $23/hr Clean driving record (ZERO infractions in last 3 years) for insurance purposes. 3 years experience on vehicles with gross combined weight over 3,600 kg. Driver's abstract, minimum 3 years. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain a positive attitude when problems arise. Personal transportation to the workplace (location not serviced by public transport).

Assets

Familiarity working with farm/agriculture type business. Basic mechanical skills for vehicle inspection and maintenance. Knowledge of Niagara/St. Catharines' regions for local deliveries.
