The Position



Reporting to the Aggregate Manager, the Loader Operator will perform the daily tasks of operating and maintaining equipment in a safe and effective manner and completing all documentation relating to the equipment's operation. This position will work out of various pits in Simcoe Country.

Duties/Responsibilities



Operate loader to feed product to wash or screening plant, or as directed. Routine maintenance of equipment including grease and checking fluid levels. Perform pre-start equipment inspection and report deficiencies to supervisor for correction. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including, but not limited to proper storage of tools, cleanliness of work area. Attend any training and safety meetings. Comply with all Company standards, policies and procedures, including; Safety, Health and Environment Policies; and any other applicable standards, policies and procedures as implemented and/or revised by the Company or by legislation. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills



2-3 years' experience operating heavy equipment. Knowledge of aggregates and ready-mix concrete industry. General understanding of aggregate productions. Surface Miner Common Core Training would be an asset Familiarity working with screening plants, wash plant, jaws, and crushing equipment. Ability to follow directions that are spoken or given by hand signals. Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening and physical. A safety-conscious attitude. Possess strong troubleshooting skills and aptitude. Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to perform daily equipment checks including pre and post trip checks. Basic reading, writing and math skills. Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must be able to take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, follow all rules and policies, and be a team player. Must be able to handle the physical demands of the job. Able to work outside and in all weather conditions. Must wear all required personal protective equipment.
