Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented

Load Booking/Dispatcher

to coordinate freight shipments and support transportation operations. This role involves scheduling, clear communication, and effective logistics planning to ensure efficient and on-time delivery processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, familiarity with transportation management systems, and excellent communication abilities to work effectively with carriers, clients, and internal teams.

Duties

Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Load Link, Samsara, and SyteLine. Utilize GIS and GPS tools for route planning and optimization. Manage dispatching activities for fleet operations, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. Accurately enter and maintain data in systems such as AS400 and 3PL platforms for tracking and documentation. Communicate professionally with carriers, drivers, and clients using multi-line phone systems while maintaining proper phone etiquette. Monitor shipping and receiving operations to ensure compliance with schedules, safety standards, and company procedures. Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies and support continuous improvement efforts. Maintain detailed records of freight movements, shipment statuses, and related documentation. Collaborate with supply chain teams to coordinate transportation planning and optimize load efficiency.

Skills

Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, AS400, SyteLine, and 3PL platforms. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technologies, and transportation planning principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone etiquette. Accurate and efficient data-entry capabilities across multiple systems. Experience in dispatching, freight coordination, and shipping/receiving processes. Analytical skills to evaluate logistics data and drive operational improvements. Familiarity with fleet management practices and supply-chain logistics. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment using multi-line phone systems. Understanding of logistics concepts, including freight analysis, transportation management, and shipping/receiving operations.
