Key requirements:
Minimum 5 years
of experience in a
commercial litigation role
with preference for experience in
bankruptcy / insolvency / collections
Highly organized
and
pro-active approach to meeting deadlines
while producing
accurate quality work
Experienced in submissions to
Court of King's Bench
(KB) and navigation of the
Filing Digital Service, Court Case Management Digital Service, and Email Filing systems
for same
Experience conducting
due diligence searches
(Motor Vehicle, PPR, Corporate, Land Titles); APPRES certification and SPIN2 experience are assets
Experience with billing
and understanding of basic accounting principles
Strong
client service
and
relationship building
Transcription and formatting
of documents via dictation or digital forms
Other requirements:
Post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant/Paralegal program (equivalent experience may be considered)
Experience drafting pleadings, writs of enforcement, and letters
Adapts to changing priorities with effectiveness in a high-volume work environment
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English- speaking, reading, and writing(additional languages are an asset)
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software (e.g. Worldox, Elite 3E, Remindex, SpeechExec, Adobe or similar programs)
Quick learner who is curious and retains knowledge
