Job Description

Our client, a leading law firm recognized for excellence and client service, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to join their Toronto office. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a top-tier legal team in a highly professional and collaborative environment.

What You'll Be Doing:



Prioritize and manage incoming correspondence and emails; draft and prepare responses when needed. Coordinate complex travel arrangements, including itineraries, reservations, and meeting packages. Assist with preparation and organization of materials for presentations, conferences, and speaking engagements. Maintain and organize client files and records, both electronically and in hard copy, in compliance with firm policies. Process expense reports and reconcile accounts accurately and on time. Open new files and close completed matters according to established protocols. Oversee billing processes, including docket entry, pre-bills, and invoice preparation. Manage detailed calendars, schedule meetings, and ensure lawyers are briefed and prepared for all commitments. Arrange logistics for meetings and events, including document preparation and coordination of required materials. Serve as a liaison with internal departments such as Finance, Marketing, and Client Accounts. Communicate professionally with clients regarding billing, collections, and account status

What You Bring to the Table:



Completion of a Legal Assistant diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience supporting litigation lawyers, preferably in commercial litigation. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal document management systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating initiative. Flexibility to work additional hours as required.
