This position is fully in-person at our Richmond Hill office to maximize collaboration, mentorship and client service.

What You Will Do
Prepare, draft and revise litigation documents and correspondence, including pleadings, motion records, affidavits of documents, discovery plans, mediation briefs, trial records and books of authorities.
Manage the litigation calendar: schedule examinations, mediations, motions, pre?trials, trials and client meetings; coordinate with the court, counsel and service providers.
Handle service, filing and e?filing, including Justice Services Online and Case Center
Organize and maintain electronic files, document briefs and productions; manage undertakings, refusals and follow?ups.
Create repeatable checklists and mini-SOPs for common tasks; share tips and training with the team.
Assist with hearing and trial preparation (witness lists, exhibit binders, logistics and attendance as needed).
Communicate with clients and external parties in a professional, clear and timely manner.
Track deadlines and limitation periods; implement tickler systems and reminders.
Provide clerical support, including answering phones and managing correspondence.
Perform other litigation support tasks as required.
What You Bring
Diploma from a recognized Law Clerk program
2+ years of prior civil litigation experience (commercial/construction/employment focus is ideal).
Strong command of the Rules of Civil Procedure, court practice directions and e?filing protocols.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe, DocuSign and Outlook.
Experience with CosmoLex and/or PCLaw for timekeeping/billing, trust accounting and matter management.
Experience with Case Center and sound document management best practices.
Tech savvy; comfortable learning, testing and recommending new tools and software (familiarity with e-discovery/production platforms or review tools is ideal).
Exceptional organization, attention to detail and written/oral communication skills.
A proactive, accountable mindset; ability to work independently and within a small, fast?moving team.
Flexibility to meet occasional after?hours deadlines when required by the court schedule.
What Success Looks Like
3 months:You're confidently handling routine filings, scheduling and document preparation with minimal supervision, and you've identified a quick win to streamline our workflows.
6 months:You own the carriage of motion/deadline calendars across several matters and anticipate next steps.
12 months:You are a go?to resource on complex records and trial preparation, and a steward for our tech-enabled practices, improving our processes along the way.
