The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Insurance Defence files.
The successful candidate must have
:
2-5 years' experience with handling Insurance Defence files and/or have a background in general litigation.
Ability to summarize client documents
Preparation & review of correspondence with Insurance Companies
Review and preparation of documents such as Pleadings, File Briefs, Motion Records, Affidavit of Documents, Factums, Appeal Book, and Bill of Costs
Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure, legal forms & e-filing procedures is required
Familiar with procedures in various Courts such as Provincial (Superior Court of Justice, Court of Appeal) and Small Claims Court.
Interaction with clients and general practice management.
Be a self-starter who is capable of working both independently and in a group setting
Possess excellent oral & written skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Possess strong organizational skills
Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PC LAW would be an asset
