Reporting to the Liquor Division Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:


1. Operational Management: Responsible for all aspects of the location operation, including executing the store level plan, meeting operational efficiencies and targets, consistently implementing procedures/best practices, policies, and applying the CBA, ordering, receiving, processing claims, delivery, managing inventory; minimizing costs and maximizing profitability. Ensures standards are met and exceeded - i.e. Image, merchandising, asset protection, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of equipment etc. Ensures programs are implemented as outlined. Supports procurement process.


2. Talent Management & Team Leadership: Leads their team within the parameters of the CBA and Saskatoon Co-op polices and guidelines. Practices full cycle talent management - talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management including communicating clear performance expectations, coaching, and mentoring, development planning, and driving employee engagement and implementing strategies to promote a positive employee work experience.


3. Financial Management: Leads and develops store level budget in collaboration with the Liquor Division Manager and Liquor Specialist. Regularly reviews financial reporting, providing variance explanations within required timelines, and implementing adjustments to obtain profitability.


4. Marketing and Business Development: Supports the division's marketing plan, executes at store level as directed by Team Leader, ensuring point of sale and in-store signage and promotions are aligned with programs and organizational/divisional marketing campaigns, and effectively displayed. Informs all team members of the campaign and required behaviors to align with the desired outcomes.


5. Analytics: Tracks and compiles relevant location level data to measure targets and analyze results, such as sales and employee hours, shrink, inventory, margin, productivity, specific product performance.


6. Safety, Compliance (and Environmental) Stewardship: Ensures compliance with Saskatoon Coop's Safety Policies and government regulations (OHS committee meetings, fire drills, operator's certification, SLGA, SARI). Reports incidents, workplace accidents and near misses as required. Aids in investigations in asset protection or other related matters. Implements corrective action to prevent future safety events. Ensures a safe environment for employees and customers; providing training to handle equipment and machinery, maintaining current certifications, performing regular inspections). Ensures team members have updated required certification for sales of regulated products and operation of equipment.



Qualifications:


Successful candidates will have their Grade 12 or equivalent, with a preference for post-secondary education. Minimum of 5-10 years progressive and successful retail management, with a preference for Liquor Industry experience. Candidates will have proven leadership experience, will have their serve it right certificate, commitment to ongoing industry experience a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
