Line Cook/prep Cook (wok Whisperer)

Job Description

The general duties of the Line Cook include prep duties during down time, supporting the other line cooks on duty, maintaining a clean work area, and additional support to the Manager as needed. This position requires long periods of standing, and some lifting. Overview of job tasks: - Cooking on the line as needed - Prep all required food and sauce items - Knowledge of all prep recipes and procedures - Stock rotation, first in first out - Cleaning at end of shift - Maintain clear & respectful communication with all employees on shift - Line setup and tear down - Putting away food orders if needed - Cleaning kitchen & maintaining kitchen equipment - Use of hot woks, fryers, and other kitchen equipment - Reading and following recipes - High level of pride and care for food quality - Recording food waste - Maintaining portion controls Areas of Responsibility - Speed, a sense of urgency to cook dishes in a timely manner - Some dish washing may be required - Maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of the line area to ensure - Knowledge & practice of food safety principles - Strong understanding of the menu, ability to handle allergies and food intolerance requests - Organization, keep your areas organized and improve efficiency of your station - Treat the machines, smallware's and food with utmost care - Sweeping and mopping floors - Break down cardboard boxes and recycling - Take out garbage and replace bags if needed - Other duties as requested

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
