We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our meals are prepared efficiently and meet the high standards of our restaurant.

Key Objectives:
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and cooking instructions.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
Help with inventory by reporting shortages.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setup and breakdown of the kitchen at the beginning and end of shifts.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after each use to ensure a safe and hygienic cooking environment.
Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks such as cleaning kitchen hoods, vents, ovens, refrigerators, and other large kitchen appliances
Schedule:
Typically 5-hour shifts, up to 12-20 hours per week.
Day or Evening shifts, 3-4 days a week, usually 12pm - 5pm or 5pm-12am but may vary
Hours may increase in summer.

Education/experience:
MUST have worked in a restaurant or fast food setting.
Understand operations of kitchen and front of house through previous jobs
Experience of 3 months minimum is an asset
Knowledge and understanding of Indian cuisine is an asset, but not required
Physical Requirements:
Standing and walking for lengthening periods.
Is physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment and safely lifts heavy loads up to 22kg (50lbs).
