LINE/PREP COOK JOB DESCRIPTION

Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen according to health and safety standards
Preparing and executing dishes or prep recipes according to restaurant recipe specifications and according to health and safety standards
Maintaining communication with both back of house and front of house team members regarding accurate timing of dishes
Effectively communicates any out-of-stock items to management
Ensures opening and closing duties are completed to standard and checklists are followed and completed to standard
Any waste is recorded and communicated to Culinary Supervisors or Managers
Ensuring products are stored and labelled according to standard with FIFO top of mind ensuring freshness or product
Ensure allergen processes and procedures are conducted with the highest level of health and safety standards
Maintaining high level of detail with checklists, prep sheets, par sheets and line checks
Safely operating all restaurant equipment
Ability to effectively use KDS systems and expedite food as needed

Qualifications:
Hospitality driven with guest satisfaction top of mind
A minimum of 2 years experience in a full-service restaurant
Safe Food Handlers Certification required
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time in a fast-paced work environment
Must be available weekend and holidays, varied hours (opening and closing) and days of work
Effective communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
Possess basic food handling and preparation knowledge
Strong time management skills
