Job Overview

The Berczy Tavern, Owned and Operated by Executive Chef Michael Angeloni is looking to hire a part time line cook/prep cook to work weekend service & Brunch. Experience with brunch & Sautee in a medium-large sized restaurant is a huge benefit.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Work lunch service, including poaching eggs, cooking risotto, and making sauces Report to the day manager to help ensure a seamless transition to night service Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations and equipment. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food handling. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.

Qualifications

Good team kitchen culture is an absolute must. Chef de Cuisine Jonah Mills is building a team that needs to mesh and teamwork is the #1 priority Previous experience in food preparation or cooking in a restaurant environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen setting. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.50-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
