Summary
In the role of a Line Cook, you will be integral to ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and food services. Reporting to the chef(s), your primary responsibilities will be included but not limited to;
previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment.
knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
working deep fryer, grill, stove and flat top with speed and confidence
heating food items in accordance with BC health, sanitation and food safety standards
preparing, plating and presenting dishes that look appealing
making of salads and garnishes, prepping food, setting up and breaking down of stations
open minded to new techniques and strategies for service and preparation
strong ability to multitask, maintain calm and keep focus during busy times
maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen
work with and report to the chefs and sous chefs
ability to remain productive and efficient during periods low business and between pushes
strong communication and teamwork skills
flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
follow health and safety standards set out by the company
confidently take customer orders in person and by phone from time to time
describe menu items in detail, receive payments both in cash and through electronic payment
be able to maintain positive, friendly interactions with customers
strong work ethic and positive initiative when faced with challenges
performing front of house and dishwashing duties when necessary
