DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, ensuring meals are in accordance with the portion and quality standards designated by Supervisor.

• Controls food usage to minimize waste

• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions

• Clean up station and take care of leftover food

• Stock inventory appropriately; assists in receiving items and taking inventory when required

• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

• May assist by performing dishwasher or other kitchen duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education/ Experience: Basic reading, writing and math and one year of food preparation experience, is preferred.
Certification and/or License Requirement: Any food handling permit as required by provincial or local law.
Qualifications: Proven cooking experience. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Familiar with industry's best practices. Culinary school diploma is an asset
Working Conditions: Will be required to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment. May be asked to work overtime. At times, especially in summer months, temperatures rise causing work environment to reach very warm temperature levels. Will be exposed to common household cleaning supplies.
