Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at the Black Goose Inn. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to our recipes and standards. We are a fast paced environment in our busy season (May-Sept), and we have more down time during our off season. We are looking for someone who is wiling to be part of a team. We have a small kitchen and space in limited, so we work as a pretty tight group.
Wages are $19-25 an hour plus cash tips and subsided medical benefits after 3months, wages are based on experience.
We are looking for a part time person who can work nights and weekends
Must have reliable transportation as we are not on a bus route
Must be able to work as a team player
Must have at least 2 years experience in a kitchen
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Cook food items according to recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner to meet customer demand
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or relevant role in the food industry
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
