We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We at Public pride ourselves on serving handmade, high quality, beautiful and above all else delicious tapas plates. The right candidate will share this passion and be eager to use their current skills as well as learn new ones. They will thrive in high-pressure situations and be willing to put in 8+ hour days when needed. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and dinner service, ensuring that each dish meets our standards of excellence while adhering to food safety regulations.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
Maintain a very high standard of cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including cooking stations and storage areas.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred.
Food Handler certification considered an asset.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in meal preparation.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively under stress.
Flexibility to work various shifts. We are open Monday - Saturday dinner shifts. Prep starts at 1:30 - 2 pm
