Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in the food industry, particularly in restaurant settings. As a Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness. This role is essential in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Duties
• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
• Assist in the planning of menus and daily specials while considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during meal service.
• Help train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques.
• Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, or any operational issues.
Requirements
• Proven experience in the food service industry, preferably within a restaurant environment.
• Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling practices.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
