Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service and quality control. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations. Assist in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas for seasonal dishes. Handle food products safely, ensuring proper storage and labeling practices are followed. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and cooking appliances. Participate in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service to guests. Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs when required.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or fine dining environment is preferred. Culinary experience with a focus on food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal preparation is essential. Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations is required. Experience in menu planning and catering services is a plus. Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking methods are necessary. Background as a dietary aide or within the food service industry will be considered an asset.
