We are looking for a full-time Lift Technician to join our team at the head office in Acheson, Alberta. (Located 10 minutes West of the City of Edmonton)
This individual will become part of our brilliant and hard-working crew of technicians providing service of automotive wheel/tire servicing equipment throughout Northern Alberta.
This position is perfect for a responsible, highly driven, and professional person who is interested in expanding their career in the automotive industry. It is ideal for someone who has lived a life of learning how systems work and enjoys tinkering, fixing, diagnosing, building/rebuilding, and understanding working systems.
The equipment our Lift Division services includes automotive, and heavy-duty lifts, alignment machines, wheel servicing equipment, tire changers, wheel balancers, lubrication equipment, vehicle damage detection cameras, and more.
Responsibilities:
Maintain, inspect, and service customers' automotive tire /wheel aligners and balancers, and other garage equipment, including installations and equipment deliveries, customer demos, and training.
Conduct diagnostic tests on various equipment to ensure proper performance and inspect for faults and malfunctions.
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance to meet manufacturers' specifications.
Provide customer training and demonstrations on various types of equipment for proper operation.
Ensure cleanliness of work area.
Requirements & Skills:
High school diploma or GED.
Prior experience or certification as an equipment technician.
Prior experience working with Alignment Machines, Tire Changers, and Wheel Balancers.
Prior experience working as a Wheel Service Technician within an automotive garage.
Shown aptitude in working with electronics.
Shown aptitude in working with hydraulic systems.
A strong understanding of parts and the internal componentry of equipment systems. Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to drive pulling a trailer for transportation of automotive garage equipment.
Class 3 license is preferred for additional proficiency.
Prior certification or experience in forklift operation.
Prior experience in loading, offloading, and load securement.
Ability to work after-hours and travel to various customer sites as required.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail.
Related Physical & Safety Requirements:
Travel to customer sites can be anticipated both locally and out of town, including occasional overnights, can be anticipated for this role.
Proficiency loading, securing, and offloading equipment.
Conducting demonstrations, and operational training for customers.
Capacity to independently lift, carry, and maneuver sales materials and lift parts up to 75 pounds, and push/pull up to 1500 pounds.
Electronic Logging Device (ELD) use is required.
Adherence to safety policies and protocols, including customer site requirements.
Proper maintenance and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Employment Type & Compensation:
$27.00 - $35.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
