Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.
The opportunity
We are currently looking to fill 1 Permanent Full-Time role of Life Skills Support Worker (known internally as a Rehabilitation Worker) in the St. John's area (Kilbride area).
Hours
: 35 hours per week
Salary
: $20.25
Schedule
: Monday to Friday, no weekends
Location
: 90 Old Bay Bulls Rd, St. John's
Responsibilities
Current position is primarily weekday shifts
Reporting responsibilities (incident reports, activity planning, behavioural data collection and verbal reports, upkeep of documentation and delegating to staff)
Participate in any required training
Follow policies and procedures as required
Provide one to one support and group support within the home and community to adults with disabilities with activities of daily living, personal care, and rehabilitation planning.
Communicate with clients, family, medical professionals, and team members.
Compensated On-Call Duties on rotational basis.
Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety
Qualifications and experience
Post-Secondary preferred or experience in Social Services
Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Sound behavioural management skills and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Word
Proven teamwork abilities
Working knowledge of disabilities
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
