The Life Skills Facilitator will be instrumental in the EmpowerPLUS program, focusing on developing and delivering comprehensive life skills training to youth participants. This role involves facilitating workshops, providing one-on-one support, and collaborating with community partners to ensure participants gain the essential life skills needed for personal and professional success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Development and Delivery
Design and implement a curriculum that covers essential life skills, including financial literacy, communication, conflict resolution, time management, and other relevant areas.
Facilitate engaging and interactive workshops, ensuring content is accessible and relevant to youth from diverse backgrounds.
Utilize various teaching methods and materials to cater to different learning styles and needs

2. Participant Support
Conduct individual assessments to identify each participant's strengths, needs, and goals.
Develop personalized life skills development plans for each participant, in collaboration with the Lead Employment Coordinator.
Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to support participants in applying life skills in real-world situations.
3. Collaboration and Partnership
Work closely with other program staff, including the Employment Coordinator, to ensure a holistic approach to participant support.
Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance program offerings.
Coordinate guest speakers, external workshops, and additional resources to complement the life skills curriculum.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
Track and document participant progress, including skill acquisition and personal development milestones.
Collect and analyze feedback from participants to continually improve program content and delivery methods.
Assist in preparing reports for program evaluation and stakeholder presentations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilitating life skills training, youth programming, or a related area.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by youth, particularly those from marginalized communities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
Experience working with Indigenous youth, youth with disabilities, racialized youth, immigrant youth, and refugee youth.
Knowledge of local resources and support services available to youth.
Familiarity with experiential learning and trauma-informed care approaches.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
Working Conditions
May need to adhere to strict confidentiality protocols when dealing with sensitive client information.
Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work required.
Travel within Central Alberta for participant meetings, workshops, and community events
.
The position is subject to the availability of grant funding and may be terminated if funding is discontinued

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
