Job Description

SCOPE



Acumen Health is an exciting and growing Private Orthopaedic Surgery Clinic and Reconditioning Centre. Reporting to the Surgical Manager, this Surgical Coordinator/LPN position is to support patients in their journey with our health professionals from a referral, their consultation, all the way to booking their surgery and post-op care.

DUTIES



A flexible weekday schedule from 9 AM to 4 PM, with 3 to 6 night shifts per month running from 6 PM to 6 AM. Night shifts are scheduled on weekdays between Monday and Friday. Full time hours required.

Overnight care of 1 to 4 total joint replacement patients (ASA 1 or 2) in an off-site location

Data entry admin tasks Schedule Patients for Providers

Answer clinic phones for surgical patients. This is an important task as our clinic is private and a different experience for patients. Educating patients on surgery performed and expectation is important in a private setting

Ensure office policies and procedures are followed Use word processing, spreadsheet, database or presentation software to prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, etc. Maintain patient's file throughout their journey Gather patients medical information as per provider, inform patient of quote and payment expectation Keep filing system organized and safe Be involved in the design of our EMR, reporting, and policies of the clinic Have a good relationship with partners and collaborative clinics Work in collaboration with Surgical Centres across Canada Take vitals for joint replacements patients Schedule patients for pre-op assessment with family physician Go over surgical options with patients Book surgery for patients Organize pre and post-op appointments with our reconditioning team Organize medical files for patient referral (labs, imaging, etc.) Provide pre-op appointments to surgical patients Ensure referral files are complete and refer to surgical centre accordingly Constantly improve processes, patient journey flow, and inter department communication Manage quote and surgical billing before surgery with patient and surgical centre

Always have a professional and courteous disposition with patient and team members Have great communication skills Organizational skills are necessary to manage a large amount of detailed information Be able to work individually and part of a team, work under pressure, and tight deadlines The ability to be flexible in the schedule is a huge benefit to our organization Fast learner and wanting to learn more will be a great fit within our team Attention to detail as to managing patient files Minimum 2 years experience preferred as part of a medical team Willingness to learn, time and change management skills Great phone etiquette Passion to educate patients about Orthopaedic options in Alberta and BC Knowledgeable in post-op care for total joint replacement patients

Pay: $28.00 per hour
