Job Summary
Southern Alberta Surgical Centre, located in the Meadow Mile Professional Building in central Calgary, is currently seeking a casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), starting immediately.
We're looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with people. The successful candidate will model core values of caring, commitment, integrity, excellent communication skills and teamwork.
You will be working with a variety of general and colorectal surgeons who provide our patients with comprehensive teaching and treatments of a variety of colorectal and anorectal issues. Our team will work with you to provide you with on the job teaching of colorectal issues as well as resources to expand your knowledge of the common issues we see here in the clinic, so you are prepared to provide our patients with comprehensive teachings.

Qualifications
?2 years of private or public nursing experience (preferred).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail.
Desire to work with diverse patients requiring clinical and surgical management.
The ability to work well within the interdisciplinary team
Graduation from a recognized LPN program (required)
An active LPN permit in good standings with the CLPNA (required).
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (required).
Current BSL level CPR (required)
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and clean rooms and equipment for procedures.
Follow office policy and procedures for proper medical device reprocessing and sterilization.
Prepare patients for examination, take patient histories and document assessments performed by surgeons.
Prepare and assist surgeons in procedures. For example, rubber band ligations, Botox injections, and minor surgical procedures.
Provide comprehensive patient education.

Experience
LPN: 2 years (preferred)
License/Certification
Graduation from a recognized LPN program (required)
