Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and licensed carpenter that possesses a Certificate of Qualification in Carpentry from the Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities to join our team for a contract position. This contract will be for approximately 16 weeks starting in February 2026. The working hours will be 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

The licensed carpenter should have experience in construction, remodeling, and renovation projects. The preferred ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or retired but still active certificate. This role involves site supervision to direct the workers of each crew during the course of this project, and adherence to safety standards. The licensed carpenter will deliver high-quality workmanship, ensuring the project is completed efficiently and to the client's specifications.

Responsibilities

Supervision and direction of workers onsite Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for projects Utilize hand tools, power tools, safely and effectively Install fixtures such as doors, windows, siding with accuracy Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications

Skills

Proven experience in construction site management and carpentry disciplines including framing, trim carpentry, siding, windows and doors Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution Proficiency with hand and power tools Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on the job sites Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites
