Faculty/Department Library Unit Library Employee Group CUPE 5791 CUPE 5791 Job Family Operational Services Category Student Number of Vacancies 3 Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position are shifting and shelving of library materials located in the University Library and working at the Library Help Desk user service point. Student assistants are also responsible for opening and closing the Library on weekends and statutory holiday hours of operation.

Areas of Responsibility and Typical Duties:



Library User Services:

Shift and shelve library material Loan and return library materials Initiate searches, recalls and holds Update user information Create user record for new users General customer service duties including answering phone calls, providing directions and general information about the Library
Position Requirements
Candidate must be registered as a student in the current semester (Fall 2025) at the University of Regina with plans to register for Winter 2026. Excellent oral and written English language abilities. Strong attention to detail Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the Library's clients. Experience in working with MS365 Suite of products such as Word and Excel and ability/willingness to learn new software. Ability to function effectively as a team member. Previous experience working in a library environment would be an asset. Knowledge of library classification system would be an asset.
Physical Demands
May be required to lift items up to 50 lbs
Pay Grade CUPE Phase 1 Salary Range $16.30 per hour Status Casual Work Hours
Varying throughout the week.



Must be available on weekends and evenings.
