The Library Director will plan, administer, and evaluate the operations of the T. S. Rendall Library and Archives at Prairie College. Responsibilities will include library budget proposals and implementation, collection development, personnel management, administration of the library's automated system, and public relations. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week job.
Duties & Responsibilities

Administrate the daily activities and functions of library operations, including personnel management, the library's automated system (SirsiDynix Horizon and Enterprise), database access, and policy development.
Oversee Prairie College archives' budget and the procurement, accession, evaluation, and preservation of archival collections, ensuring best practices in policies and procedures.
Evaluate and supervise library services.
Create and implement strategic initiatives for library services.
Create and implement an annual budget for the library.
Oversee textbook purchase and sale.
Manage the library staff of professional and student workers.
Oversee collection development in areas related to academic programming.
Oversee the implementation of Prairie College's information literacy plan, including information literacy assistance (e.g., class presentations) and information literacy resource creation and maintenance.
Provides guidance on copyright, fair use, and intellectual property within the institution.
Provide public service and library user reference and research support as needed.
Participate in Academic Council and designated faculty responsibilities as a co-curricular faculty member.
Represent the College to external organizations of which the library or archives are institutional members.
Participate in designated areas of co-curricular life as mutually agreed on with the Academic Dean.
Qualifications

Knowledge of and commitment to Prairie College's mission, vision, core values, statement of faith, and Community Covenant.
Mature Christian character along with an understanding of and commitment to the local church.
Primary vocation is in the area of librarianship. Senses a desire to fulfill this vocation at Prairie.
A minimum masters-level library degree.
Significant experience within a library system, with direct experience in an academic library setting preferred.
Experience or capacity for supervision of employees.
