Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.Unposting Date: 2024-05-29 11:59 PMThis role requires full time on site presence.Please note this is a contract position for a period of 10 months.Your roleCBC North is looking for a Library Coordinator, assigned to coordinating day-to-day operations of cataloging our northern content.The Library Coordinator plays an important role in realizing our strategic goal of ensuring prudent oversight and predictability in the lifecycle of content within CBC\xe2\x80\x99s video, audio, and photo production systems. This role will be based in Yellowknife and assigned to our Indigenous Language Archives (ILA) project.Key tasks include coordinating and assigning the work to the ILA catalogers, as well as liaising with production teams and technology and infrastructure stakeholders within the organization to ensure our practices, processes and systems are performing optimally and meet the needs of content creators.Your profileWe are looking for someone who brings the following strengths, skills and abilities to the role:

  • You possess a solid understanding of information management principles, including media asset and metadata management, industry-accepted standards, best practices and their practical application.
  • You take pride in your ability to coordinate and align the efforts of a team of information management professionals to best meet evolving business requirements relating to file-based media asset management and metadata management.
  • You have demonstrated experience with utilizing content and media asset management platforms to manage content collections.
  • You are self-motivated and can effectively work without continuous supervision.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills working in a team environment.
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • A familiarity of CBC file-based production workflow, systems and tools is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada programming, programming policies and journalistic standards and practices is an
  • asset.
  • You have earned an advanced degree in the field of Information Science and possess a minimum of 4 years experience working in information management.
