The position is responsible for providing confidential administrative and operational administrative support to the region. You will play a key role in administering all aspects of employee payments and contracting, as well as additional initiatives as required.This position will be based in Yellowknife and requires full time on site presence.Your roleObtains and verifies details, and initiates documentation regarding staffing and compensation matters for employees in all CBC Network News, News Production Services and Regional News.Support role for all CBC locations in the north including Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut/Nunavik.Manage calendar, travel and expense claims for the Senior Managing Director.Ability to backfill Scheduling.Provides support for the staff on-boarding experience.Ensures adherences to corporate policies, departmental practices and collective agreements, obtains authorizations and forwards documentation for processing in a timely manner.Liaises and works with Human Resources to provide related support and information to staff re: changes (collective agreements, benefits, etc.).Researches and liaises with Human Resources on employment status/pay issues.Assists in determining appropriate contractual status of employees.Researches/advises management group on additional remunerations, contracts, leave and attendance, and other employee-related issues.Provides administrative support via Workday.Prepares employee contracts via Livelink.Prepares freelance agreements and payments via Livelink.Prepares documentation to hire per occasion employees; includes frequent liaison between local Finance/HR for related payments.Proposes, implements and maintains business processes with the scope of the above duties.Drafts and/or assists in the preparation of confidential reports.Sets up and maintains various computerized files to and record systems in order to monitor probationary/trial periods, employee status and length of employment, expiry dates, etc.Supports various committees (ie. Occupational Health & Safety, Wellness, Dialogue Survey).We are looking for a candidate with the following:3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar role in a similar environment.Post-secondary degree/diploma with an emphasis on business administration or equivalent experience.Exceptional organizational skills.Exceptional communication skills.Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality are required.Power user of standard desktop software such as MS Office and Google Docs.Experience using Workday is an asset.Experience dealing with tight deadlines due to payroll is an asset.Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.A good listener with empathy for diverse perspectives.Ability to quickly learn new tools and adapts well to change.Open and eager to learn and teach others.Northern Indigenous language is an asset.A strong, demonstrated understanding of the North and pan-Northern political and cultural landscape.Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to being a leader in reflecting our country\xe2\x80\x99s diversity.
