Employment opportunity at the Faculty of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences located on the Macdonald Campus of McGill University (Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue). Full-time, regular employment, offering the opportunity to become a member of the Student Affairs team in the faculty.

Position Summary:
En tant que membre de l\'\xc3\xa9quipe des affaires \xc3\xa9tudiantes de la facult\xc3\xa9, le candidat effectue des visites de recrutement d\'\xc3\xa9tudiants au Canada (principalement au Qu\xc3\xa9bec) afin de promouvoir les programmes de premier cycle offerts par la Facult\xc3\xa9 des sciences agricoles et environnementales. Fournir des informations sur une grande vari\xc3\xa9t\xc3\xa9 de sujets et des demandes d\'admission. Participer \xc3\xa0 des activit\xc3\xa9s et \xc3\xa9v\xc3\xa9nements connexes pour les \xc3\xa9tudiants potentiels et nouvellement admis. Il est responsable de la production de mat\xc3\xa9riel de marketing \xc3\xa0 des fins de recrutement.

Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in recruitment of prospective students for programs offered at the Faculty of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences (Macdonald Campus) and McGill University. Undertake a combination of in-person and virtual recruitment events within the province of Quebec mainly but could extend to Ontario. May include some overnight travel within these areas. Responsible for creation of publications for recruitment and advertising purposes. Responds to complex admission related inquiries, maintains knowledge of admission requirements for different categories of applicants.

Participates in recruiting visits (Fair-style) to Quebec CEGEPs in the greater Montreal area and outskirts during the recruitment season (mainly fall, some winter).

Addresses questions concerning programs, prerequisites, admissions procedures, tuition, financial assistance, on-campus accommodation and services, career outlook, etc. Distributes recruiting materials.

Acts as resource person for counsellors from CEGEP\xe2\x80\x99s and high schools. Maintains regular contact in order to promote policy changes, new and revised programs, special events, etc.

Participates in annual planning and scheduling of recruiting events based on analysis of previous year\xe2\x80\x99s activities and costs. Prepares budget submission for recruitment activities. Jointly with manager, develops and finetunes marketing/recruitment strategy and goals for the Faculty for inclusion in unit\xe2\x80\x99s strategic planning report. Collaborates with Recruitment unit of Enrolment Services by participating in team visits (e.g. Tourn\xc3\xa9e, Caravan, Rendez-vous McGill, etc.).

Participates in organization of annual training sessions designed to update Enrolment Services Recruitment unit and direct services staff about the Macdonald Campus programs. Plans event, oversees and participates in event itself, may present in some of the sessions. Participates in Cegep Counsellors Day both in English and in French as well as any virtual recruitment related activity.

Organizes and participates in Campus wide events such as Orientation Week (end of August) for new incoming students, McGill\xe2\x80\x99s Open House (end of October), Winter Fair (February), Meet McGill at Macdonald Campus (April), etc.

Plans and organizes yield recruitment activities in order to maximize the enrolment of students admitted to the Faculty (e.g. phon-a-thons, personalized mailing, student panels, Meet McGill, etc.). Recruits, hires and trains part-time staff (student casuals) for these activities.

Receives advertising requests for external advertising; reviews with manager to determine cost, effectiveness and target audience.

Oversees the creation and production of written or electronic marketing material for recruitment purposes (e.g. posters, viewbook, Essential Guide, etc.). Participates in decision process at every phase of the project (e.g. message, contents, design, photos, format, production deadlines, etc.). Maintains regular contact with marketing consultants. Discusses target markets; provides concept, ideas; participates in brainstorming sessions. Reviews draft material submitted with committee members; relays feedback to consultants. Edits text to ensure accuracy of information disseminated and consistency of terminology. Ensures costs remain within budget projections.

Monitors inventory of promotional publications. Ensures sufficient quantities are available for future needs, ordering as required. Coordinates mass mailings to educational institutions. Plans accordingly, recruits, hires and trains part-time staff (student casuals) for mailing projects.

ADMISSIONS - Maintains a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of local, national and international educational systems. Keeps abreast of admissions policies, locally and elsewhere. Acts as resource person for more complex admission inquiries.

Supervises one direct-report, (Student Affairs Coordinator). Undertakes other duties and projects/events as required.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Proven organizational, communication, presentation and customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with students, the public and all levels of staff. Ability to promote McGill and Macdonald Campus programs, in person or through the use of virtual and social media platforms. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver\'s license required. Demonstrated ability to work in a computerized environment, using MS Office (including Powerpoint), the Internet, FaceBook and Instagram, platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, Webex; navigation in Workday, Banner SIS, Minerva. Willingness to work overtime occasionally, to accommodate nature of certain recruitment events.

McGill University is an English-speaking university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in English, thereby requiring communications in English, both orally and in writing. For this role, the ability to communicate in French, also orally and in writing, will be necessary.

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor\'s Degree 1 Year Related Experience with Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree / DEC III 3 Years Related Experience with DEC III

Annual Salary: (MPEX Grade 03) $52,210.00 - $65,260.00 - $78,310.00
