Duties

Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure all students achieve their learning goals. Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities. Collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities effectively. Utilize computer skills for lesson planning, grading, and administrative tasks related to classroom management. Provide leadership within the classroom by modeling positive behavior and promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students. Organize classroom activities that enhance social skills, creativity, and critical thinking.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential. A background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Strong teaching skills, including time management, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills are required. Classroom experience is vital for understanding the dynamics of student engagement and learning processes. Proficiency in writing skills for creating lesson plans, reports, and communicating with parents is necessary. Bilingual abilities in English and French are advantageous for enhancing communication within diverse classrooms.
