A growing transactional real estate law practice in Orleans, Ottawa is currently seeking a highly experienced

Senior Real Estate Law Clerk

to join our team! This role is ideal for a trusted, reliable professional who can independently manage residential real estate files from intake to closing and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Role Summary



We are looking for a senior real estate law clerk who can independently manage residential real estate transactions from file opening to closing. This includes preparing and reviewing all required documents, coordinating with clients and third parties, and overseeing the closing process. The successful candidate will be polished, detail-oriented, and capable of conducting in-person client meetings in the Orleans area. The role requires strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to take ownership of files with minimal supervision.

This is a transactional practice only -- no litigation work is involved.

Responsibilities



Manage residential real estate purchase, sale, and refinance transactions from start to finish Draft, review, and finalize key documents, including agreements, transfers, mortgages, statements of adjustments, and closing packages Conduct client meetings for document signings and identification verification Ensure files are organized and compliant with LSO requirements and industry best practices Liaise with clients, realtors, mortgage brokers, institutional lenders, and opposing counsel in a professional manner Track and manage files using tools such as

Dropbox, Gmail, and Monday.com

Provide timely updates, reporting, and proactive follow-up to ensure smooth closings Identify and resolve issues independently while keeping the lawyer informed as necessary

Qualifications



Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Ontario residential real estate law, with proven ability to manage transactions independently from intake to closing Extensive knowledge of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and refinancing, as well as familiarity with Teraview and lender portals Strong client management abilities, including professionalism in appearance, conduct, and communication Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple high-volume transactions simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines Must be located in Ottawa, preferably Orleans, and able to commute to the office daily for in-person client meetings and signings Proficiency with digital tools and cloud-based platforms (Dropbox, Gmail, Monday.com, etc.) Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Experience in other areas of practice (e.g., estates, corporate) is considered a strong asset
