Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Corporate / Commercial – Fixed Term (15 Months)

Job Description
Centra Lawyers LLP is a busy medium-sized firm located in Maple Ridge. We are currently looking for an experienced Legal assistant/ paralegal to join our Corporate and Commercial department. The successful candidate will be able to fulfill the following duties and will meet the following qualifications:
Duties:
- Draft and prepare correspondence and documents;
- Incorporations and annual maintenance;
- Schedule appointments and maintain responsible lawyer's calendar;
- Maintain BF's for limitation dates and other important deadlines;
- File openings, preparation and management;
- Receive, review, analyze and organize various documents
- Prepare invoices and manage client collections;
- Communicate with clients in a courteous and professional manner; and
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1+ years
of corporate experience;- Legal Assistant Diploma preferred;
- A strong understanding of legal procedures in civil litigation and systems;
- Excellent spoken English, grammar and editing skills;
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and Adobe;
- Knowledge and proficiency in ALF;
- Knowledge of Leap Software is considered an asset;
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and work under pressure; and
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with a can-do attitude
Fixed term may be extended depending on business needs
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 15 months
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
