How You'll Help Us Better Serve Our Clients





We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Litigation team for a 12-15 month maternity leave contract. This is a full-time, contract position--ideal for individuals who are eager for growth, committed to excellence, and looking to build their careers in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Be Doing





You are detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a team environment. You enjoy contributing to high-quality work while providing outstanding support to clients and colleagues.



Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Providing litigation support across multiple practice areas, including business litigation, wills and estates, and family law Assisting with matters at all three levels of court in BC: Provincial Court (BCPC), Supreme Court (BCSC), and Court of Appeal (BCCA) Navigating diverse court rules and procedures, including the unique requirements of appellate practice Providing administrative assistance to assigned lawyers within the Litigation team, including: + Setting court dates, discoveries, mediations, and client meetings
+ Arranging court filings and organizing/assembling chambers records
+ Preparing and drafting various correspondence and documents, including court pleadings
+ Monitoring and managing email correspondence
+ Assisting with monthly billing
+ Managing calendars and BF systems
+ General administrative duties as required

How You'll Be a Great Fit for This Role





We're looking for someone who brings both skills and mindset:



Strong understanding of civil litigation processes across various practice areas Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone etiquette Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems Familiarity with legal documents, terminology, and procedures (preferred) Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and proofreading Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and be resourceful in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and work assignments Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program or equivalent experience Prior experience as a legal administrative assistant or in a similar support role within a law firm or professional services environment
