Position: Legal and Compliance Officer
Location: Toronto

Are you an experienced legal professional seeking a change from long hours and yearning to make a substantial impact within an organization? Look no further! Quantum is on the lookout for a dedicated paralegal to join forces with our CEO and his team in establishing a cutting-edge Legal and Compliance division.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our company\'s operations align with the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing compliance policies, staying updated on relevant laws, providing legal advice, and ensuring contractual alignment with organizational policies. Additionally, you will assist the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program.
Legal Compliance:
- Support in the Development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures
- Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting the company\'s operations
- Provide support with cross functional teams in interpreting regulatory requirements and ensuring adherence
- Ensure contracts align with organizational policies and legal requirements
- Conducting legal research to support compliance initiatives

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):

- Support in the development and implementation in comprehensive DEI strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Collaborate with HR leadership to integrate DEI initiatives into HR policies and practices
- Educate management teams on compliance policies and legal requirements

Auditing and Reporting:

- Support in establishing and implementing an auditing system to track compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Prepare regular reports for senior management detailing the status of compliance initiatives and any identified issues
- Conduct internal investigations in response to compliance concerns or alleged violations
- Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and implement corrective action plans.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor\'s degree in legal studies or a Paralegal diploma
- Proven experience as a paralegal regarding corporate practice
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (Ontario and Quebec specific)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
