POSITION PROFILE:
The Leasing Manager will contribute to all aspects of UHN\xe2\x80\x99s Leasing and Lease Administration. UHN\xe2\x80\x99s Real Estate Portfolio spans over 2 Million Square Feet. The Leasing Manager will work closely with the Director of Leasing to implement and execute Offsite Leasing Strategies as well as Onsite Retail Leasing Strategies. The Leasing Manager will be accountable for leasing activities related to commercial, medical, office, retail and pop-up projects. The Leasing Manager will strive to improve processes and collaborate with relevant UHN Stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiating documentation related to lease proposals, offers to lease, waivers, and letters;
  • Completing business development activities through, industry contacts, cold calling, and contacting market peers;
  • Monitoring arrears and assist Property Management in any resolution and collections;
  • Following deals from start to finish while working collaboratively with Property Manager, UHN legal, Facilities, Project Manager and various internal and external stakeholders;
  • Reviewing and understand financial budgets, and deal implication on budget;
  • Negotiating documentation for renewals, new deals, amendments, and waivers;
  • Tracking critical dates for option notice periods, ROFO\xe2\x80\x99s, expiries, and other relevant dates;
  • Instructing UHN legal to prepare appropriate documentation and finalize negotiations;
  • Collecting tenant inducements and monitor any financial issues that may arise and assist in a resolution;
  • Developing, negotiating and managing retail pop-up programs across various UHN sites;
  • Contributing to corporate efforts and initiatives, as appropriate, to enhance UHN\'s mission, values and goals;
  • Ensuring accurate approval process is achieved and recording and tracking of onsite and offsite deals are accurately recorded in the Leasing software;
  • Preparing reports from software and summarize information for UHN Leadership\xe2\x80\x99s review;
  • Preparing presentations and business cases;
  • Representing the unit/department internally on UHN committees, as required, and UHN in the external collaborations, workshops, etc.;
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At minimum, completion of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business or related field or recognized equivalent required.
  • At minimum 5 years of progressive, practical and related experience.
  • Experience with Lease negotiations with Landlords and Tenants is required.
  • Experience in both asset classes Office and Retail preferred.
  • Ontario Real Estate Area License is considered an asset but not required.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector or the public sector is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills required.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to manage complex relationships is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of negotiation skills is required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to negotiate in a matrix environment; adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability to implement changes and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
