About the Role



Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Learning & Development Manager leads the planning, design, and delivery of learning programs that build capability, ensure compliance, and strengthen engagement across the organization.

A key responsibility will be managing the educational components of the

Hillel Lodge Academy

, a major initiative dedicated to staff development, leadership growth, and culture transformation. You'll also develop and sustain education systems that ensure

regulatory and accreditation compliance

-- a cornerstone of this role.

This is a

100% on-site role

based at Hillel Lodge in Ottawa. Presence in the workplace is essential for supporting front-line learning, collaboration, and coaching.

What You'll Do



Lead the design and delivery of the

Hillel Lodge Academy's

educational programs. Develop and maintain mandatory and compliance-based training programs to meet legislative, regulatory, and accreditation requirements (FLTCA, MLTC, CARF, AODA). Create engaging, blended learning content using adult-learning principles and innovative design techniques. Facilitate in-person training sessions and provide hands-on coaching across departments. Partner with managers and directors to assess learning needs, set priorities, and support implementation of new practices. Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all training activities. Measure the impact of learning initiatives and continuously improve delivery and outcomes. Reinforce Hillel Lodge's core values and person-centred culture through meaningful learning experiences.

with staff, understanding their needs, and building learning that makes a lasting difference.

You can balance stakeholder demands with organizational priorities and are confident navigating the realities of a compliance-driven environment.

Qualifications



Degree in Adult Education, Human Resources, or a related discipline. 5-7 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, ideally in healthcare, long-term care, or other regulated settings. Proven skill in instructional design, facilitation, and compliance-based learning. Proficiency with LMS administration, Microsoft 365, and e-learning tools such as Articulate or Canva. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills. CTDP, CPLP, or Prosci certification is an asset.
